Yeezy shoe collectors are ‘panic selling’ following Kanye West’s antisemitic rants in music video
Loud rap star Kanye West has sparked a huge sell-off on the black market after using anti-Semitic slurs and making controversial homophobic and transphobic jokes.
In the music video for ‘Diamonds From Sierra Leone’ he used the n-word several times, while his fellow rapper Yeezy has admitted that his ‘raffish’ lyrics are often used by black people to discuss their ‘lack of love’ for the African nation.
But the two rappers are not alone – rappers and fashion designers and luxury goods companies have all been affected by a surge in panic sales following West’s comments.
From designer handbags and wallets to luxury cars and shoes, many high street fashion brands and luxury goods suppliers have been flooded by the orders, which have seen some sales soar by nearly 90 per cent.
A brand-new Chanel handbag sold out within three hours after the news spread.

Says Selfridges Director of Global Marketing, Daniel Stoten: “Selfridges’ store managers received around 10,000 emails with information on the designer handbag sale within the first hour of news emerging.”
